After a prolific career spanning four decades and across industries, Sunder Raju returned to his long coveted dream of establishing an institute that recognized students as the autonomous learners they are. In 2020, this dream became a reality through Atria University.
Atria University, fuelled by the intellectual curiosities and expertise of some of India and the world's brightest, is attempting to address the challenge of tomorrow by stitching together disparate learnings into a single holistic process, exemplified by its motto — Learning to Learn.
With its technology-enriched classes, individualized learning paths, and opportunities for peer and collaborative learning, Atria University believes in learning by doing — active learning. Sunder Raju is convinced that the educational system must evolve if the youth of tomorrow are to survive, thrive, and find solutions to the problems we face as a species.

Atria University recognises that disruptive technologies — from artificial intelligence to e-mobility and biotechnology — are reshaping industries and societies at an unprecedented pace. We also recognise the urgent need to tackle pressing environmental and societal challenges. Climate change, the depletion of natural resources, and social inequality require interdisciplinary science-based solutions.
Recognising that real-world problems do not exist in isolation, we offer courses that provide opportunities for students to engage in hands-on projects that reflect the complexity of the world outside the classroom. Collaborative research initiatives, internships with industry partners, and community-based projects allow students to apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.
